Goal Acknowledging the importance of science and technology in the world today, St. Timothy’s has continued to ensure that a hands-on science lab is included in its elementary-level curriculum. In this enrichment class, students are able to conduct a variety of experiments and activities to reinforce their regular science classroom instruction. Science Lab provides the young students with an introduction to basic scientific concepts in the areas of biology, chemistry, geology, physics, and more!
Students also practice the scientific method: asking questions, formulating hypotheses, collecting data, and drawing conclusions. The overall goal of the lower school science lab is to let students explore their own world while grasping basic scientific concepts. Above all, the curious young scientists have fun experimenting and discovering!
Meet Mrs. Suk My husband and I were delighted with the education that our children received at St. Timothy's School many years ago, and I have enjoyed re-uniting with the school community as a teacher. As I begin my ninth year at St. Timothy's, I continue to look for new and exciting ways to inspire students. Although my background is in zoology and tissue culture, I enjoy introducing my students to all sorts of sciences. I want to make sure that they are comfortable in a lab setting so they will not be anxious or concerned when they transition into the Middle School Science Labs. I am grateful for the lab that is dedicated solely for the purpose of lower school enrichment, because the hands-on activities can often be messy and the discoveries can sometimes result in high-pitched squeals!
